Case 1:
A 48 year-old Cafeteria Worker sustained multiple injuries to her cervical spine, bilateral upper extremities and psyche as a result of her employment. The case original settled at 100% Permanent Disability with the applicant’s future medical care left open. Following our review and assessment, it was determined that the total exposure over the life of the claim would exceed $1.4 million based upon the nature and extent of anticipated future medical treatment, indemnity and ongoing litigation exposure. We were successful in settling this case for the sum of $575,000, resulting in a savings of nearly $900,000.
Case 2:
A 36 year-old Manufacturing Machine Operator sustained a severe head injury after being struck by a board that was ejected from a machine. The applicant was deemed permanently totally disabled by his treating physician resulting from the injuries sustained. Our analysis revealed an anticipated lifetime exposure on the case of $2.4 million. Following our involvement and intervention in this matter, the case was settled for $750,000, resulting in estimated savings of $1.65 million.
Case 3:
A 59 year-old Registered Nurse sustained multiple injuries to her back, neck, bilateral upper/lower extremities, psyche and internal injuries as a result of her employment. The case initially resolved at 100% Permanent Disability prior to our association with the matter. Included in the settlement were accommodations for the applicant, sub-acute care housing, as well as housing accommodations for her dogs! Following our intervention in the matter, we provided an assessment valuing the case in excess of $2.1 million. With the assistance of Gitter & Associates, Inc. the case ultimately settled for $1.25 million, resulting in a savings in excess of $900,000.
Case 4:
A 55 year-old Office Worker sustained multiple injuries to her back, neck, bilateral upper extremities and psyche as a result of her employment. The case initially settled with a limited amount of Permanent Disability, however, the annual medical costs were in excess of $38,000 per year. Following our review of the matter, it was determined that over the applicant’s lifetime the anticipated exposure would exceed $1.2 million. Gitter & Associates, Inc. negotiated a settlement of $287,000; resulting in estimated savings in excess of $936,000.
Case 5:
A 56-year old Accountant sustained injuries to her low back, bilateral lower extremities and psyche while lifting a bottle of water onto a cooler in 1986. The case initially settled at 16% Permanent Disability with the applicant’s future medical care left open. The injured worker continued to treat for this injury for 20-years, averaging nearly $45,000 in medical expenses annually. Following our review and intervention in this matter it was determined that the anticipated exposure on the case would exceed $1.4 million over her lifetime. Through the efforts of Gitter & Associates, Inc., this case settled for $537,000.00; resulting in a savings in excess of $875,000.
Case 6:
A 59-year old Bus Driver sustained injuries in 1982 to her back, neck, bilateral upper/lower extremities, psyche and internal injuries as of result of her employment. She remained disabled for the entire period (1982-2007) at which time Gitter & Associates, Inc. became involved in this matter. Based upon a review of the file it was determined that the applicant was permanently and totally disabled with a need for ongoing medical treatment in excess of $14,000 annually plus escalating attendant care due to the deterioration in her condition. We provided an estimated lifetime exposure value of approximately $1.5M and were successfully able to negotiate a resolution of all issues for $585,000.00 resulting in a total savings of over $900,000. |
